"let by gone br by gone....."
tokk the exam today, I am neither happy not unhappy with the score.
Q: 48, V: 36, T: 690 (91%).
during the last days I did many GMATprep exams, I have retaken the tes t1 and test 2 3 times each - to look at the most question I can from the real thing- ( none of the question apeared in the real exam).
prep scores in the GMATprep: Q:47-50, V:35-39, T: 670-700.
good luck all.

took the GMATprep test 1....
hi, as I was worried with the "dive" in Verbal score and worried of how suggestive of the real exam are all these prep program exams such as PR, Cambridge and Kaplan - I decided to take the GMATprep test 1.
score:
Q:43, V:38, T:670
understandings:
a. I am happy with the Vernbal score, I somehow feel more "at home" with the actual GMAT Verbal section than with the Kaplan one. most mistakes are in "good old" SC.
b. I am unhappy, however, with my Quantiative score (a plunge from 53 heights to a whoping 43...)
took notes on all questions I found hard and/or mistaken. no common nominator for the 15 (!!!!) mistakes. I need to see that I dont flunk on these questions the next time.
next posts I will put all scores gained on the various programs I used- see if there is a positive slope....
bye

Kaplan and Verbal score...
after doing 3 Kaptest exams here are my stats:
#1: Q: 49 V: 30 T: 680
#2: Q: 44 V: 29 T: 630
#3: Q: 53 V: 30 T: 690
my conclusions are:
a. I have heard of Kaplan as being tough on Quantiative, if this is so than I should be hapy. I think it is not so. Kaptest exams are not more difficult in Q. I am happy I broke the 50 line but am worried about my inconsistency (49 --> 44 --> 53).
b.what are they thinking with their Verbal section? I had a nive average of 36-39 in 2 PR and 4 Cambridge exams, how could I have slumped to a stable average of 30? I have to aknowledge I have serious work to do in Verbal. most mistakes in the Kaptest V section are by far the CR.
time left:
8 days. I was considering postponing but will go ahead with the original date.
Verbal Verbal Verbal...... thats my mission - havent given up on the 40 goal in V.
must think of a new study strategy to confront this issue.
chow.

moving on to Kaptest
hello all,
I took two more Cambrige exams - an there is progress - only the wrong kind of. in Q I maintain a 46-48 level but in V I stumped to 35-36. not good, putting me further away from my V 40 goal.
problem: I think I am considering the V part as something less important as I am not e native english speaker. another reason is that I loos patience and want to know my Q score allready.
solution: mental change - prioretise the V section - take a day to refamiliarise my self with the m.o.a.'s and the ground rules.
I took today the Kaptest 1, I expected the Q to be extremley hard and found it no so. the V on the other hand was very hard for me (except for the RC which was shorter than I got used to and was scarcer than in other exams) I scored Q 49, V 29 :( and T 660.
two good links I came across
a. a score estimator - http://www.gmatclub.com/content/resources/estimator/index.php?estimate use it to see how your prep scores estimate your real score
b. a GMAT prep forum with usfull info and intel - http://www.beatthegmat.com/index.php
any advises on how to maintain focus during the Verbal section?

Ola,
just finished another Cambridge exam-curiously I scored exactly the same as my yesterdays exam score, its a fair score but what about progress? there is none!
I think I know the quantative reasons - about 5 mistakes with atleast two concerning reading comprehension and "what is sked", the rest are an assortment of subjects with no major common factor. as for the Verbal resons - I dont really know, I can see the CR of the cambridge exam differs quite significantly than the Official Guides CR - so I dont know what to do with that since there is an increase in CR mistakes in the canbridge exams I have taken.
I must think of where I can invest time to gain aome sort of progress in order to: a. cross the 40 Verabal line and b. touch the 50 Quantative peak. no plan at hand at the moment for achieving this, other than daily exam taking.
time for another one.

hello all,
today I was in at work from 0800 untill 1830. I was about to not take an exam byt then, at 2100 I sat down and started a Cambridge cd exam.
it was long, boring, kind of different in the type of questions used
results: Q 46-48, V-38-39, T -670-690 (for some reason it gives a range rather than a score).
anyway considering having done the exam at night after a full work day - I am happy with the results (even not considering) I still dont know how is Cambridge cd compared to Prienctonreview cd - anybody know?

2 down and many more to go...
just finished my second priencton review cd exam,
results: exam 1 - V 32, Q 40, T - I did both parts apart from each other so there was no total score. not very happy with the Q score - I felt it was mainly "rust"
exam 2 - V 35, Q 49, T 680 - now thats more like it. havent debriefed the latter yet.
I notice I get agitated as of the second half of the verbal section and practicaly annoyed at ant reading comprehension I get.
since I plan taking exams from various sources I am not sure a comparison between them is relevent but surly a comparison between exams from the same sources is. so I will look for in source improvments and the closest score similarity will occure with the GMATprep exams (planned for the weekend before the real exam).
thats is for now

Hi,
wedding was nice, GMAT studies did not fair the same thus far.
yesterday I summarised all quantative laws and m.o.a's as a review towards the exam exercices scheduled.
today I will not be able to start either - tomorow than (thank god for tomorow)
so on my plan for the first exam is to take one from the prienston review cd - grades will be published. (oh' the shame.......)
the objective is a 700 + GMAT score, with 40+ verbal and 47+ quantitive
current level is 35 verbal and 45 quantitive. usually finishing each section with some 10 minutes to spare- so I need to debrief myself and see where I can invest more time for better performance.
in a nut shell my problem is with SC in verbal and with combination and integers in quantitive.
any advise given will be kindly appreciated.
maybe I can post some intresting questions I happen to stumble across.,
good day to all

first mba blog post,
status: 3 weeks to GMAT exam
goal: top euro mba program (LBS, INSEAD, HEC, or Oxford)
time frame:..... well thats the special situation I am in - about 4-5 years from now
derived obsticles: age factor (34 at aplication), is it worth the effort?
this blog will start with self GMAT prep cheering up and pep talking so I will start studying seriously and after the exam - some more deep contemplating on why, where, when and how.
I plan to start taking exams each day as of tomorow, need your help to persist with this overambitious plan - exams planned: princeton review cd, kaplan cd, kaptest, cambridge cd and offcourse the GMATprep cd (I am saving the "best" for last)
some personal info:
age 30, finishing my first degree in law and international affairs in the hebrew university in Jerusalem (GPA around 3.4 +), an Airforce pilot with 2 more years of service to go.
right now I am leaving for a friends wedding, will continue tomorow.
cheers
